Our Story

Founded by a public servant, built for everyone.

Insurance By Heroes was founded in 2019 in Pasadena, Maryland by Joshua Wahls, after more than a decade in public service that spanned local law enforcement, the Department of Defense, and the IRS. His family served too: he is a former active-duty military spouse.

The agents here come from that same world: classrooms, patrol cars, firehouses, and bases. People who chose service once tend to choose it again. This time, the mission is your coverage.

We are independent, so we are not tied to a single carrier’s products. We compare the top carriers against your situation and tell you the truth, whether that means a policy today or a better fit down the road. Been declined before? That is routine for us, not a problem.
