$25,000 Final Expense Insurance Quotes: 2026 Guide

Bottom Line

A $25,000 face amount doesn't ensure full natural-death benefits from day one. Compare the actual premium and initial payout with a smaller policy, using the same applicant and expenses after subtracting available resources.

Comparing $25,000 final expense quotes

Request $25,000 for the insured person’s actual age, state, tobacco use and health history, then compare the issued premium and initial death benefit. A $25,000 face amount does not prove that the full amount is payable for natural death from the first day.

A larger benefit can cover a larger unfunded plan, but it is not automatically the right amount. Choose it from the expenses and resources you want to cover, and a payment you can maintain.

If the plan includes cremation in North Carolina, check the North Carolina direct-cremation source sample and obtain a current provider price before choosing the policy amount.

Compare $25,000 with a smaller amount

The examples below show the carrier’s published $15,000 alternative. They do not quote $25,000 or extrapolate its cost from another amount. Ask for an actual $25,000 offer alongside the smaller option.

Published-rate assumptions: United of Omaha Guaranteed Whole Life; the carrier’s Washington (WA) rate chart; monthly payment; rates effective August 1, 2026 and checked October 16, 2026; male/female categories as printed. This guaranteed-issue chart does not separate tobacco classes or use health questions. These are the carrier’s published examples, not a personalized IBH quote, a national average or prices for a level-benefit plan. Confirm the current state-specific offer.

Issue age Male / month Female / month
55 $74.45 $58.26
65 $104.61 $83.85
75 $177.99 $137.27

The carrier’s chart describes combined coverage up to $25,000, but prints rates for selected smaller amounts. The absence of a $25,000 price in this table is a reason to request it, not to assume a proportional premium.

Initial benefits can change the comparison

Gerber Life Guaranteed Life is one documented example with a $25,000 combined limit, but its stated South Dakota maximum is $15,000. Its initial nonaccidental-death benefit is 110% of earned premiums during the first two years; it states a one-year graded period in North Dakota. That shows why amount, state and benefit timing must be checked together.

Compare our initial-benefit product table and ask whether you qualify for full contractual benefits from the start. Eligibility and available amounts are product-specific.

Your $25,000 coverage-gap worksheet

  1. Write the funeral-provider estimate for the services you choose.
  2. Add separately quoted cemetery costs and other final bills you want to fund.
  3. Subtract savings or existing benefits available for that purpose.
  4. Compare that gap with $15,000 and $25,000 full benefits.
  5. Compare the initial limited benefits separately; do not count the full face amount during a graded period.
  6. Request the actual premium for each amount and check your long-term budget.

Hypothetical example: $18,000 in chosen costs and bills minus $4,000 available savings leaves $14,000. A $15,000 full benefit would cover that example gap; $25,000 adds $10,000 of protection beyond the smaller amount. This is planning arithmetic, not a funeral-price survey or insurance quote.

Questions before accepting an offer

  • Are both quotes for the same insured and benefit type?
  • What pays in years 1 and 2 for each covered cause?
  • What is the total monthly payment, including any fees?
  • Can the payer maintain it if income changes?
  • When does coverage become effective, and what exclusions apply?
